Dale Hopkins - Onwards and upwards

Dale Hopkins portrait

On 6th August 2009, Paratrooper Dale Hopkins was killed in Afghanistan. He was finally laid to rest on 26th August 2009, when his home town of Redditch came to a standstill, united in silence by one common thought. Over 1000 people and Police, Ambulance and Fire Brigade lined the streets to pay their respects - even parking wardens stopped issuing tickets.

A group of Dale’s friends and family have already raised £20,000 for the Afghan Trust by a sky dive on 6th February 2010. Donations are still very much welcome - we thank everyone for their support.

We are not stopping there. In Aug/September 2011, Sam Berry and Emma Hopkins will climb Mount Kilimanjaro. We have set a target of £45,000. If we hit that target, Sam will carry up a standard weight Bergen - twice the weight recommended for the climb.

You can help us surpass our target by using the link below to donate
